June 2008-

Thanks to everyone who attended our May club meeting at McGavock High School in the auto paint and body area.  Everyone thought that Craig had a great facility and had done a great job in securing state of the art equipment to teach with.  If my school would have had a shop like this, when I was in school, I would have probably been in it all day, instead of class!  The air conditioned classroom was also a big hit on a hot day and everyone had a good time.  Special thanks to Craig Satterfield for his hospitality and uses of the facility.

The meeting got started on time and I must say that the attendance at the meeting was light, but it was the Memorial Day weekend.  We first talked about upcoming events including the Smokey Mountain Mopar Club Show in Sevierville, the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, and the Good Guys Show in Nashville.  (See the Events Calendar)  John noted that he had been contacted by a local church group about our possibly helping them with a show, but in what way is unsure.  John made no promises and is waiting on more details before bringing it back to the membership.

John mentioned that we are still seeking a sponsor for our show after Nashville Dodge committed and then backed out.  A couple of members in attendance said that they would try to contact folks they know at other dealerships and see if they can find us another sponsor. There was little other discussion except on where the June club meeting would be.  At the suggestion of Linda Price, it was decided that the meeting would be held on Sunday, June 22, at the Caney Fork Fish Camp near the Opryland Hotel.  Meet and greet starts at 12:30 pm and the club meeting will start at 2:00 pm.

 See you on Sunday!  John

Our 2008 show is fast approaching, now only four months away, and it is time for us to all get busy getting ready for the show.  As a club member, we need your help in getting ready for the show and your help during the show to make it a success.  One way to do this is by helping to selling class sponsorships.  If you know of a business that would like to sponsor a class please contact them or if you can sponsor a class it would be a great way to support the club. The cost is only $75.00 and they get their name on the class trophies, their names announced during the show, and their name in our Advertiser’s Directory.  Don’t be afraid to ask your local businesses, many are willing to help us, if we just ask!
